Retired FBI Special Agent with 20 years of service.
Assigned to the Jacksonville and Richmond Divisions of the FBI, Quantico (VA), and FBI HQ.
Served as a mobility operator with the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team at Quantico (VA) for seven years, receiving advanced training in vehicle operations, including off-road and armored vehicles, tactical and defensive driving, and maritime vessel operations.
Served on the FBI Jacksonville SWAT team for six years.
Participated in the security of numerous national special events, including State of the Union addresses, national political conventions, Super Bowls, and international economic summits.
Participated in hundreds of high-risk arrests.
Provided dignitary protection for US Attorneys General.
Provided force protection on multiple occasions for FBI Agents investigating kidnappings of American citizens in Haiti.
Participated in and coordinated the transfer of prisoners charged with violent crimes and terrorism, traveling to foreign countries to return them to the United States for judicial proceedings.
Supervisor in FBI Counter Terrorism Division managing shifts in a 24/7 security operations center tasked with terrorist screening operations.
FBI technically trained agent for four years in the Richmond Division. Installed, monitored, and programmed audio and video surveillance tools including wired, WIFI, and cellular camera systems, audio recorders, IR cameras, and vehicle/cellphone trackers. Coordinated numerous covert and overt installations in support of investigations and for use at FBI facilities.
Extensive investigative experience with financial crimes, fugitive investigations, human source development, open-source intelligence, and KYC (know-your-customer) investigations for financial institutions and government interests.
FBI instructor certification -- instructed new and experienced agents at FBI Academy and offsite.
Obtained Coast Guard Master’s license for vessels up to 50 gross tons.
Prior to entering the FBI, served as a Police Officer for 6 1/2 years in Fairview Park and Akron, Ohio.
US Coast Guard reserve for 6 years – served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Trained by the Coast Guard in small boat operations, law enforcement, and search and rescue.
Graduated from the University of Akron with a BA degree in Sociology and AS degree in Criminal Justice.
