The idea of forming Gold Shield 1811 was conceived by Joe Robuck, Don Kidd, and some of their closest colleagues in the FBI and other agencies.  The idea was born out of a deep appreciation of the talents and dedication of many of the “street” agents and support staff with whom they worked.  Innumerable dangerous arrests, high-profile investigations, and large-scale operations were brought to a successful conclusion because of the teamwork of true patriots. 

When contemplating retirement from the Bureau, Joe and Don did not want to give up the feeling of accomplishment they regularly had as FBI Agents after taking a dangerous perpetrator off the street or watching from the prosecution table as a jury convicted a violent or white-collar criminal who had preyed on innocent victims.  Nor did they want to give up working with a team of truly great people.

Joe and Don identified gaps they could fill in the private sector based on the substantial training and experience gained over the course of their government careers.  Providing executive protection, assessing physical security, and, of course, conducting investigations were regular taskings for Joe, Don, and their government teammates.  Those are now services that Gold Shield 1811 provides, at the highest level, to its clients.
